The lume. Panerai put Super-LumiNova X1 on the dial, the hands, the inner rehaut ring, the perimeter of the crown guard bridge, and the locking lever. In the dark the outline of the entire crown-side profile glows. It is a lot. Some people will find it gimmicky. Others will love it. What matters for a rep is execution. VSF got the neon green tone right and the lume application is even across all the surfaces. The rehaut ring glows consistently without hot spots. The crown guard and lever outlines are clean. At night the watch broadcasts what it is from across a room.
The case. Fibratech is basalt rock fibers fused into a composite. It is about 60 percent lighter than steel and has a matte grey appearance with horizontal striations that vary from case to case. No two have the same pattern. VSF replicated the material look correctly. The grey is the right shade, matte without looking dirty, and the layered texture shows through at different angles. The fixed bezel is also Fibratech, which means the whole case head matches. The crown guard is integrated into the composite case rather than bolted on as a separate piece, which is accurate to gen.
The dial. Anthracite sunburst. Dark grey with a subtle radial grain that catches light during the day without competing with the lume at night. The neon green numerals and skeletonized hands read clearly against the anthracite background. The date at 3 and small seconds at 9 are standard Luminor placement. The dial is a supporting actor here. The lume placement is the lead. But the anthracite finish keeps things interesting during daylight hours so the watch does not feel like it is just waiting for the sun to go down.

It is the standard choice for a reason. It works. On a reference where the case material and the lume are already doing something unusual, having a known, predictable movement inside is a plus.
The strap. Black Sportech with white contrast stitching and a DLC titanium buckle. Sportech is a synthetic woven fabric bonded to a rubber backing. It handles sweat and water without staining and the white stitching picks up the lume theme during the day. The DLC titanium buckle matches the dark grey composite case.
