The Panerai Submersible PAM00985 is the 47mm titanium Submersible with blue lume. Most Panerai dive watches use green or beige lume. The 985 uses blue Super-LumiNova on the dots, indices, and hands. Against the matte black dial and the sandblasted titanium case, the blue lume gives it a colder, more technical look than the standard Submersible. The titanium case keeps the weight manageable at 47mm. VSF Watch Factory got the blue lume tone and the titanium finish right.

The lume. Blue Super-LumiNova on a Submersible is unusual. Panerai defaults to green or vintage beige on most models. The blue lume reads colder and more modern. In daylight the luminous material is pale blue-white against the matte black dial. In the dark it glows blue. The dots, baton indices, and skeletonized hands all carry the same blue tone. The luminous pip on the bezel is blue to match. VSF got the blue correct and the lume application is even across all the elements. If green lume on a Submersible looks right to you, the blue takes a minute to get used to. Once you do, it makes the standard green versions look dated.
The case. 47mm sandblasted titanium. Sandblasting produces a finer, more even matte finish than brushing. It absorbs light completely and hides surface marks well. The case, crown guard, and bezel are all sandblasted to the same finish. The unidirectional bezel has raised graduations and rotates with firm clicks. Titanium is lighter than steel, which matters at 47mm. A steel Submersible of this size wears heavy after several hours. The titanium version does not. VSF's sandblasting is consistent and the titanium has the right darker grey tone compared to steel.
The movement. Dandong P.9010 automatic. This is the newer-generation movement with the independent jumping hour hand for time zone adjustment and date quickset through the hour hand. Neither operation stops the running seconds. The P.9010 replaced the P.9000 in the current Submersible generation. It is the correct movement for this reference and it is consistent with VSF's other P.9010-based models. The winding is smooth and the date change is clean.
The strap. Blue fabric with a sandblasted titanium tang buckle. The blue matches the lume tone. The fabric is a woven textile that breathes better than rubber in hot weather. The titanium buckle matches the case finish and keeps the all-titanium look consistent. Strap changes are fast and this case takes blue rubber or grey NATO naturally. The blue-on-blue pairing with the strap and lume gives the watch a more unified color identity than the standard black-rubber Submersibles.
