The Panerai Submersible Bronzo PAM01074 is the first bronze Submersible in 42mm. For years the Bronzo line was 47mm only. The 1074 put CuSn8 bronze in a smaller case and paired it with a matte blue dial instead of the green of the original 382. The bronze case develops a natural patina with wear. The 42mm size makes it a daily option rather than a statement piece. VSF Watch Factory got the bronze alloy and the dial color right.

The bronze. CuSn8 marine bronze. It starts warm, close to rose gold, and darkens as it oxidizes. Salt water, sweat, and humidity accelerate the patina. The case, bezel, and buckle all bronze. They age together. The solid titanium caseback prevents the green skin staining that bronze can leave on a wrist after hours of wear. VSF used the correct alloy and the patina develops along the same color timeline as gen.
The dial. Matte blue with luminous dots and baton indices. The blue is a deep navy that complements the warm bronze without competing with it. Skeletonized hands with luminous fill. Date at 3. Small seconds at 9. The blue and bronze pairing is what separates the 1074 from the earlier green-dial Bronzos.
The size. 42mm changes the proposition. A 47mm bronze watch is a commitment. The 1074 wears like a standard Submersible. Lighter, smaller, fits under a cuff. The crown guard and bezel geometry scale correctly.
The movement. Dandong P.900 automatic. Standard date quickset and small seconds. No GMT. Reliable and correctly spec'd for the 42mm case.
The strap. Blue suede leather with beige contrast stitching and a bronze tang buckle. The suede finish looks worn from day one. The bronze buckle patinas with the case. For water, swap to rubber. The bronze does not care either way.
