The Rolex Yacht-Master 42 226659 is the larger Yacht-Master on the Oysterflex strap. The gen is solid 18K white gold. VSF plates 904L steel to match the look. White gold reads cooler than steel and heavier on wrist. The 42mm case wears larger than the 40mm Yacht-Master but the Oysterflex strap keeps the overall weight manageable. The matte black ceramic bezel and the black dial with white text make it the most monochromatic Yacht-Master in the range. VSF Watch Factory got the case polish, the bezel, and the movement right.

The case. 42mm in 904L steel polished to mimic white gold. The gen 226659 is solid 18K white gold. VSF uses steel with a high-polish finish that replicates the cooler, brighter tone of white gold without plating. The polish is the thing. No brushed surfaces on the case body. The larger 42mm platform has more wrist presence than the 40mm Yacht-Master. The lugs are curved and ergonomic. The Triplock crown has crown guards and screws down. At 42mm the watch reads more deliberately sporty than the 40mm version. VSF got the polish quality and the case proportions right.
The bezel. Matte black Cerachrom ceramic with polished raised numerals. The numerals sit above the sandblasted ceramic background. Bidirectional rotation with smooth, precise clicks. The monochrome black and polished steel bezel against the polished white gold-toned case is the cleanest bezel-and-case combination in the Yacht-Master line. No gold. No platinum tone. Just black and silver. VSF got the ceramic finish and the numeral polish right.
The dial. Matte black with white gold-trimmed Chromalight indices and Mercedes hands. The lume glows blue in the dark. The "YACHT-MASTER" text is printed in white, not red. No color anywhere on the dial. Black, white, and silver. It is the most understated dial in the Yacht-Master range. The date at 3 sits under the cyclops lens. VSF's dial print is clean and the lume application is even.
The movement. Dandong 3235 automatic with a 72-hour power reserve. Three days off the wrist without stopping. The date flips instantaneously at midnight. Blue hairspring and correct shock absorber layout. Winding is smooth and reliable. VSF's 3235 is the same movement across the Yacht-Master and Submariner range.
The strap. Black Oysterflex elastomer with a titanium-nickel blade inside for structure. The underside has a longitudinal cushion system that creates air channels for breathability. More comfortable in heat and humidity than a metal bracelet. The clasp is the Oysterlock in polished steel with an Easylink extension. The Glidelock is not included on the Oysterflex models. The black strap against the polished white gold-toned case creates a two-tone look without metal contrast. Strap changes are possible but the Oysterflex is the correct pairing for this reference.
