The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116506 is the platinum Daytona with the ice blue dial and the chestnut brown ceramic bezel. Rolex reserves the ice blue dial for platinum models exclusively. The baguette-cut diamond hour markers and the brown ceramic bezel with the platinum-toned tachymeter markings make this the most expensive and least obtainable Daytona in the catalog. VSF replicates the look with polished 904L steel and a Dandong 4130 movement. VSF Watch Factory got the ice blue dial tone, the brown ceramic bezel, and the chronograph function right.

The dial. Ice blue sunburst is exclusive to Rolex platinum watches. The blue is pale and cool. It reads as a metallic icy tone in daylight and shifts silvery in low light. The baguette-cut diamond markers are rectangular stones set in place of the standard baton indices. They catch light differently from round diamonds and create a more structured look. The subdials have chestnut brown rings that match the bezel. Running seconds at 6, 30-minute counter at 3, 12-hour counter at 9. The hands are the standard Daytona style with Chromalight fill. VSF matched the ice blue correctly and the diamond setting is clean.
The bezel. Chestnut brown Cerachrom ceramic with platinum-toned PVD tachymeter markings. The brown is warm and pairs with the ice blue dial in a way that black ceramic would not. The ceramic is scratch-resistant and the color is permanent. The engraved numerals and graduations are filled with platinum PVD that matches the case finish. The bezel is fixed. Tachymeter scale measures speed over distance using the chronograph seconds hand.
The case. 40mm in 904L steel polished to replicate platinum. The gen 116506 is solid 950 platinum. It is heavier than gold and considerably heavier than steel. VSF uses polished steel. The visual match is close but the weight difference is real. Platinum is dense. The steel version weighs roughly 60 percent less. The case finish is high-polish on all surfaces. The Triplock crown screws down and the chronograph pushers seal for water resistance. At 40mm and 12.5mm thick, the Daytona wears compact.
The movement. Dandong 4130 automatic chronograph with a column-wheel and vertical clutch. Start, stop, and reset are crisp and immediate. The 4130 has a roughly 72-hour power reserve. It is the previous-generation Daytona movement. The current 1265xx series uses the 4131. The 4130 is still the correct movement for the 116506 reference and VSF's version is the most reliable chronograph clone available. The chronograph seconds sweep smoothly and the subdials track elapsed time correctly.
The bracelet. Oyster with polished center links and brushed outer links. The Oysterlock clasp has a safety catch and an Easylink extension. The polished center links match the polished case. They will show surface marks with wear, which is true of the gen. The platinum Daytona on the Oyster bracelet with the ice blue dial is recognisable from across a room. There is no stealth version.
